Termination Process for Absconding Employees

Please let me know the legal process to follow to terminate an absconding employee. I would be thankful for your suggestions in this regard. Can an employer directly terminate any absconding employee? Can the employer face any legal obligations in this regard?

Kindly send him a warning letter to both his permanent address and present address through Registered AD, stating his period of absence and asking him to return to duty within 3 days of receiving this letter. Otherwise, management will assume that he has lost interest in the job and will be forced to terminate him.
