There was a poor Pakistani man who was invited into the home of a rich man. He offered him many foods and comforts. Then the poor Pakistani man said he would also invite the rich man over someday.

Along came the day, and the poor Pakistani man wanted to offer the rich man many foods, but he was poor and did not have them! So he told his wife: when the guest comes, make noise in the kitchen as if you are making food. Then drop a pot, and I will ask, "kya huwa?" and then you will say, "chicken curry ghir gaiyee." A few minutes later, do the same thing, and I will ask, and you will say, "gosht karhai ghir gaiyee," and I will say, "then what do we have to eat?" and you will say, "abh daal hee hai bas," and I will say, "chalo daal hee khaa lete hain phir." And then they will just eat the daal.

So the guest comes, and the poor Pakistani man talks with the rich man, and he hears some dishes fall in the kitchen, so he asks, "kya huwa?" and the wife says, "daal hee ghir gaiye!"

Hmm... Nice story, I would say. The moral of this story, in my view, is that "You should never forget who you are and should try to do things within those limits." In the story, a poor chap tries to act smart, forgetting his identity, and thus the plan goes wrong. Instead of that, he may have worked harder and bought a gift for the rich man if he really wanted to thank him for the treat.

But in the end, I would also say the humor part does exist in the story, and the end was awesome - "daal hee ghir gaiye!" 

Moral :- We should be what we are i.e be yourself and never try to pretend what you can’t be. And Don’t be over smart.
