When I quit my job on April 13, 2012, I submitted my PF withdrawal form to my HR, who assured me that the form would be submitted to TAPASYA, a third-party vendor who handles our salary processes. They would then submit the form and related documents to the PF office. I've relocated out of the country now. When I checked my PF Claim Status on the government's PF site (http://www.epfindia.com/) and entered my PF account number, the page displayed the message "No record found." What does this mean? Has my PF withdrawal process been initiated at all, or have the PF documents not been submitted to the PF office?

(By the way, the HR team in my previous office was known throughout the office as a bunch of lazy bums who never do their work until you involve your managers or directors in the discussion.)

Thanks for your reply. The thing is, I've already written to them, and they've given me a certain PF officer's email at the Bangalore office. I've already written to this person, but till now, no reply. You know how Indian government offices work—PATHETIC! I think it'll take another six months for them to reply to my grievance mail. I'll be out of the country for the next two years or more, and I'm lost about what to do or whom to contact.

I hope you have a copy of any of your earlier PF slips. Kindly check the name as mentioned on the slip, along with the PF code number, and insert the same in the correct format on the EPFO website. Also, as the PF data updating process is very slow, it may take time to display your record if entered correctly.

As mentioned in my earliest post on this page (please read it if you haven't), I have clearly mentioned that I have filled in my PF account number and other details to check my PF Withdrawal Status. I followed the guidelines provided in the PDF on their website and used my PF slip. It's not because the PF updation process is slow and needs time to display, as you mentioned. I have been checking the PF claim status continuously for a week, and it says no record found for my member ID. I am a senior engineer who has worked on several website development projects, and I know this is not a technical issue with the PF website.

Thank you.

You have not mentioned the number of years of service in your current organization. As per my knowledge, PF data of the previous year, i.e., 2011-2012, is still under accounts auditing. It will take time to update. It's better to go through your HR or a thorough third-party agent; they might have some acknowledgment of the submission. How old is your organization to be entitled to PF? If it is just a year back, then it will not be shown.
