Starting a Career in a Jute Company
Is it good to start a career in a jute company? I am interested in Industrial Relations and labor laws. I am a fresher. The role will be a personnel officer with a salary of 16-17k, and the company is performing well compared to its competitors.
Considering Career Options in a Struggling Industry
Is it good to start a career in a struggling industry? Or should I consider companies in other sectors like manufacturing, construction, cement, etc.?

Your statement is contradictory. You are saying that the company is doing well and branding it as a sick industry. Any good opportunities that come your way, grab them since you are a fresher and may not have multiple choices.

Career Opportunities in the Jute Industry
The jute industry is also a manufacturing industry. What is important to promote your career is the volume of exposure and the quality of skill sets you develop in an HR role. If it is a struggling industry, you may learn various ways of downsizing through methods like VRS, cost-cutting, lay-off procedures, retrenchment procedures, financial restructuring, and organizational restructuring, as well as proceedings before BIFR, etc., which you may not experience in an industry that is sailing smoothly. However, the problem with a struggling industry is determining whether it is in the stage of winding up, which may create uncertainty too early in your career. An optimist sees an opportunity in a threat.
