MIS Reports are key and vital for any organization. As an MIS professional, you must maintain a good rapport with production (for production norms regarding all production inputs, raw materials, utilities), accounts (costing, profitability, etc.), and salespeople (sales transactions/accounting).

Monthly MIS Reports

A Monthly MIS Report acts as a mirror to assess the company's health in any given quarter. You must have the skill to gather all the information from various departments, critically analyze the facts and figures, raise questions whenever you find something fishy or ambiguous, and have a logical mind to delve into the details.

Skills Required for MIS Professionals

MIS professionals should balance left and right brain activities, although the role mainly pertains to the left brain. You must know the norms, dos, and don'ts in black and white, understand the processes and procedures, and compare them with ongoing organizational activities to project the veracity of facts and figures. MIS professionals should have the ability to delve deeper and broader, much like policing.

Report Content

Your report should include stipulated norms, any deviations, reasons for underperformance, cost efficiency, and similar aspects. Nowadays, MIS-HR is also prepared separately, reflecting labor performance, labor climate, health, etc.
