It is the duty of every employer to provide PF slips by obtaining them from the PF Department. This serves as proof for the employer that they are regularly paying the P.F. amount. Failure to do so may lead to industrial disputes between the employer and employees.

Currently, there is no need to obtain PF balance account slips from the employer. We can simply log into the Provident Fund website and enter our PF account number to receive an immediate SMS notification of our account balance.

The employer cannot refuse. If that is the case, then the employer is not paying the correct contribution or returns are not made on time.

Form 23: Annual Account Statement

Form 23, the annual account statement, is issued in the PF office to the authorized person of the company for all employees. If you don't receive it, kindly send a letter to the EPF office; they will initiate an enquiry with the company.

Distribution of PF Slips: Employer's Responsibility

Distribution of PF slips to employees is a duty of the employer. The PF department can ask for proof of PF slip receipts from employees. The provision of checking PF balance on the website is a facility for employees to either confirm if the employer is depositing their PF regularly or not and to stay updated on their PF savings.
