Now, we are deducting 6.5% from the Contract Bill (Civil and Painting Work) for ESI. I would like to know which benefits contract labour will receive for working 1 or 2 days and how? Is there a procedure for RC for them?

Best regards,
Parimal

In our premises, some other agencies are working for Civil, Painting, and Machine Cleaning. Within those agencies, some laborers are working. We are deducting 6.5% from the bill for ESI and submitting 6.5% in our ESI code to ESI. However, we are not maintaining any data such as salary and attendance registers for these laborers. I would like to know what benefits those who are working for these agencies will receive.

Many thanks for your effort.

Best regards,
Parimal

Dear Parimal,

Questions Regarding ESIC Contribution

1. Without maintaining the attendance/salary register, how can you calculate the ESIC or contribute to the ESIC department?
2. Is the labor working in a contractor/agency role or in your company's role?
3. Have they received their IP number?
4. How are you contributing to ESIC? You mentioned 6.5% on the bill/salary to ESIC—I agree, but do you mention the number of covered employees in the challan or online?

Thank you.
