It's really very simple. Understand the following points step by step.

1. Two sheets should have at least one common column, let's say a connector column based on which you would like to connect.

2. Understanding VLOOKUP Parameters

a. The first parameter is the cell value on the destination sheet based on which you would like to connect.

b. The second parameter is the range from the source sheet (the leftmost column should be the same as the first parameter), something like $A$1:$D$20.

c. The third parameter is the number of the column that you would like to refer to based on the connector column. If column A in the source sheet is the start of the range (second parameter), then column B can be referred to as 2, column C as 3, and column D as 4 as the third parameter.

d. The fourth parameter is a boolean value, meaning either false or true. "False" stands for an exact match in both the cells of the two sheets, whereas "True" stands for an approximate value match.

Please find the enclosed file, which has a simple example based on the above points.

Hope this helps.
