Hi, my wife works for a school. After completing a two-year contract, they again made her sign a new one-year contract, not an extension (so she will not fulfill the criteria of 280 days of work in the past year). She is due in November. However, her school is not clear regarding the maternity benefits she can claim. They are saying whatever is due will be given. There is no ESI or any medical insurance provided by the school.

Request for Information on Maternity Benefits

My request to Alphonso and everyone else would be to inform me about the benefits a contract employee of the school can receive. Please note that the school is private and has multiple branches. The branch where my wife works opened two years ago and has more than 25 employees.

If she has worked 80 days in the preceding 12 months, she will become eligible for getting maternity benefit. Pon
