Hi,

I was working with an organization, and I resigned from the company without any prior notice period. I emailed the resignation letter to the HR head and the Department Head from my private email ID. Due to this, they did not pay me my salary for that entire month.

Now, when my new organization contacted them for verification, they stated that I was blacklisted in their company. I have a copy of the resignation letter and have also not received the salary for that month. Can anyone guide me on how to resolve this situation?

Dear Deeziner,

I am just sharing my views; this is your fault. Without serving a notice period, how can you expect your salary and best wishes from your previous employer? Follow some ethics; it will help you become a good professional. Just think from the management or HR point of view. Assume you are an HR person: Will you accept it if any of your employees leave without notice? Will you still pay their salary? Will you refer them for a new job? No one would do that. Even I would respond similarly, but I would refrain from giving any negative comments on the employee. Instead, I would tell them the reality.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Reason for Quitting Without Notice

What was the reason that you quit the job without serving the notice period? What was the urgency for the same? Maybe someone is able to advise you on how to sort it out.

I think, in the first place, not giving proper notice to management is a grave mistake on your part, and the company has every right to respond in this manner. How could one simply resign through a personal ID and expect to be treated fairly? I believe you should take a serious lesson from this episode and, preferably, go and apologize to the previous management. Request them to reconsider their opinion about you so that you do not face similar problems with future employers.

Thanks,

Hi Deeziner, try to sort out the problem instead of going against your previous management. Read all the employment letters from your previous employer, which might help you find a solution somewhere. Talk to your previous management. Accept and apologize. Explain the urgency under which circumstances you quit your job. Offer your help if they still require it (don't argue). Check if you can pay for the notice period. Try these things; maybe others can add some more.

Hi, myself and my wife were working in the same organization as Level II Technicians. We both were performing well in our process.

One day, our manager called us and told us that one of us should leave the company as per the company policy. So, I agreed to leave the job. While serving my notice period, I got an offer from a different company and received my full and final settlement along with a relieving letter.

After I left, they started creating problems for my wife, saying she was taking too many leaves, which was affecting the process. One day, her manager called her to resign from her duty immediately. When she asked for the reason, they said she was taking too many leaves, which was affecting the process.

They didn't want her to serve the notice period and forced her to resign from her duty. My wife told them she would serve the notice period in order to get all the incentives and bonuses from the company; however, they didn't want her to serve the notice. So, she gave the resignation letter and left the office.

Now, after five months, they sent her an email stating she has to pay some 21,000 to the company as she didn't serve the notice period.

We don't know why they sent her an email after five months. Is that a warning letter? Is there any way they can take legal action against her, or should we take any legal action against the company?

Please revert.
