Measuring Manpower Utilization in the Project Industry
How do we measure manpower utilization? We are in the project industry, and we want to calculate if the manpower available is sufficient or excessive, and accordingly plan our recruitment. But how do we determine if the available manpower is utilized 100%?

Hi,
In an ideal situation, you can have the utilization around 68-72%, which is the industry standard. What you can include in utilization could be as follows (keeping in mind the IT industry):
- Overall time spent on project on a daily basis
- Lab replications
- Trainings
- Collaborative tasks for employees - Under the same assignment, you can have multiple people being utilized
I hope this helps clarify the components to consider for utilization. Let me know if you need further assistance or information.
