Please help me to explore the Inter-state Migrant Workmen Act 1979. We have just completed the large value construction project in Delhi, how the act effects us.

Is it related to the labor deployed by our subcontractors from different states like Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other parts of the country for the execution of the civil project in Delhi. What details need to be maintained for these types of workers under the said Act? May I request all the experts to shed some light on this topic.

Interstate Migrant Workmen Act, 1979 and Rules, 1980
I am attaching the Interstate Migrant Workmen Act, 1979, and Interstate Migrant Workmen Rules, 1980 (Both Central) for your ready reference. As per this act, you have to obtain a license, and you have to maintain their Workmen Register, Wages Register, Muster Roll, and OT Register.
The main thing we must adopt is that we have to pay the workmen engaged from another state as per their state's wage rate. If the wage rate is higher in their state, you must pay accordingly. If the wage rate in their state is lower, then you must pay according to the state where the work is being carried out.
