Dear all,

As per the new rule for PF, I want to know that I didn't withdraw my previous PF account from my last organization. Kindly suggest whether it will generate any further interest, or if I should withdraw it as soon as possible.

I have learned from some sources that, as per the new PF rule, if any PF account remains inactive for 3 months or more, it will not generate interest on the PF amount.

I am in Rajasthan, and both my PF accounts (previous and current) are from Rajasthan.

It has been reported by the media that the Central Board of Trustees (EPF), in its 190th meeting on September 15, 2010, decided to cease interest accumulation after 36 months from the date the fund becomes inoperative (not three months).
