On 2nd and 4th Saturday we work for half a day only. If employee takes causal leave on that day, should his leave be counted as half a day or full day?

Though the company is working only half a day for full day work, you have to deduct full day for the absented employee

I agree. To put it differently, Employee is absent for all the working hours on that particular day. Full day salary deduction is justified. Thanks, -Amar.

Even though you work for only half day on some Saturdays, employees are paid full salary for working on such days. Therefore leave taken on such days will mean full day’s leave. Vasant Nair

The employee who remains absent on Saturday (though it's a half-working day) means that he has not reported for duty on that particular day (Saturday) and will be treated as absent for the day, i.e., one day.

Dear [Recipient],
You have to apply the Equal Pay policy. Those who attend work will be paid a full day's salary, and those who are on leave can apply for half a day only, as the company is not paying for that particular half-day but will pay the salary for the second half regardless of the person.
I think this is correct. You can't treat individuals differently.
