Dear friends, I am attaching the following for your information: 1) Amendments made on 1st December 2009 to the Environment Impact Assessment notification (including the procedure for conducting public hearings) under the Environment Protection Act and Rules. 2) Amendments to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000, notified on 11th January 2010, along with a press release explaining the amendments. (As per one of the amendments, no horn can be used in silence zones or during nighttime (10 pm to 6 am) in residential areas except during a public emergency.)
