Hi all,
Greetings.....:)
My company is having continues chemical process plant. Employees are getting weekly off regularly as per factories act. We have arranged 2 or 3 days shift schedule. Employees are comfortable with this 2 or 3 days shift schedule.
Mon/Tue- 1st shift - 6 to 2
Wed/Thu- 2nd Shift - 2 to 10
Fri/Sat- 3rd Shift -10 to 7
Sun- W/off
My query is “whether this is a correct practice OR we need to change it to 6 days shift schedule?”
I need your legal opinion.

Dear Satya,
Thank you for your response, and yes, you are right, it is 10 to 6. However, one of the Factory Inspectors asked if this is correct. He mentioned that there should be a 24-hour rest period before entering a new shift. I am not sure about the legal standpoint on this. Our employees also have no objections to this.
If we have to adopt the recommendation from the Factory Inspector, do we need to issue a notice of change for 21 days under the ID Act? Please advise.
