Hi,

I am working for an IT company based in Hyderabad as a contract employee for an 18-month period. They have recruited us to work for a client at their site, and the client is a government department. We are working on one of the e-Governance projects.

My issue is that my company has given me an Appointment letter, and they mentioned that my Consolidated salary is 11,100/-. However, they are not providing us with a salary slip, and they are not making any deductions in my salary like PF or E.S.I. In the future, if I get a chance in some good company, can I show my appointment letter as proof of my salary? I have my company salary account, and I can also show my account statement.

Please let me know, as I am very confused!!! 😕

Thanks in Advance.

There are few companies in India that don't provide salary slips yet, especially when you work on a contractual basis. However, as you mentioned, you can use your appointment/contract letter salary breakup as proof. You can also explain this to the person wherever you appear for an interview. If they still have a problem, then you may produce a bank statement and a salary certificate, which you have to obtain from your present employment when leaving the company or when the contract is ending.

I hope this information is sufficient. If you still have any queries, please feel free to get in touch with me.
