Learning and Development has come a long way in all leading organizations throughout the world. Its predecessor, Training and Development, is no longer a valid terminology for employee development. While Training is job-related and business-specific, Learning encompasses overall developmental needs like Behavioral, Technical, and Functional.

L&D can play a major role in motivating an employee and is a part of the retention scheme. L&D creates a place of involvement, interaction, and integration within a company.
