Dear Friends,

Please share your views on how we can make our HR work more innovative. It has been a week, and I feel like I haven't accomplished any quality work apart from being punctual and ensuring the psychological satisfaction of the employees that the HR Manager is available.

I am working in a mid-sized company, and it has been close to two years. During this time, I have reviewed and updated all the existing policies in my company. Now, I am unsure of what to do next.

Friends, I feel stuck and unable to find the perfect way to engage myself. What other tasks can an HR Manager undertake? I am eager to become a more contributing member of my company rather than just being present.

Your views and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Payal

Hi,

As you have already reviewed and updated the system at your organization, I think it would be best if you implement some management theories related to HR. George Elton Mayo's Hawthorne experiment can be one example. Additionally, you can look into the theory of Mary Parker Follett, known as the "mother of conflict resolution."

Since you are likely aware of the work of these management gurus, it would be beneficial to upgrade your knowledge while providing valuable insights to your organization.

Dear all members,

Please share your views on how we can make our (HR) work more self-innovative. It's been a week, and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything of quality other than showing up on time and ensuring that people are psychologically satisfied that the HR Manager is available.

Friends, I feel stuck and am struggling to find the perfect way to engage myself. What other things can an HR Manager do to be more effective?

Please share your insights with everyone who is reading this. I am genuinely trying to become a more valuable contributor to our company rather than just being present physically.

Thanks,

Dear Leo,

Thank you very much for your input. As you have already reviewed and updated the system at your organization, I believe it would be beneficial to implement some management theories related to HR. For example, George Elton Mayo's Hawthorne experiment could be a valuable reference. Additionally, you may want to explore the theory of Mary Parker Follett, often referred to as the "mother of conflict resolution."

Given your familiarity with the work of these management gurus, enhancing your knowledge while providing valuable insights to your organization would be ideal.

Dear Payal,

Thank you for your response. I understand that your company is of medium size, and implementing the mentioned strategies may not be as efficient as required. However, I will make an effort to figure out how to adapt these ideas to suit our needs better.

I welcome further suggestions from you and our colleagues. Collaboration in generating ideas can lead to innovative solutions tailored to our specific circumstances.

Thank you,

Payal

Dear Payal,

You can refer to the site: 12manage.com. This is a beautiful website that contains almost all management theories and also covers different branches of management. I hope you will find something useful there.

Moreover, what I personally think is that the size will matter, but not much. What is the workforce strength in your organization?

Hello Payal from Cairo, Egypt...

What exactly do you want to invent or discover?

HR is not rocket science, and mid-size companies always give priority to the utility factor in all that you invent or discover. 😄

You can handle filing, employee records (attendance, leave records), and salary and wages administration. 😜

I have also been inventing something in this HR field for the last 20 years. 😄
