Hello CiteHR Dudes,

Employees under probation should also receive the salary breakdowns. I am in a dilemma. Our manager said not to prepare salary breakdowns until the probation period is complete. Please help me.

Thanks.

Hi Tejaswini,

I believe that the salary breakdown should be provided when the person is being issued the offer letter before joining, and not during the confirmation or after completing the probation period. A well-formatted salary breakdown helps the candidate or new joiner to have a better understanding of their gross salary, deductions, and take-home package.

Hi Tejaswini,

Your manager is wrong in this respect. Please note, what is the definition of a probationer? A probationer is a workman who is employed to fill a vacancy in a permanent post and has not been confirmed as permanent by an order in writing. It means we have to observe him for 6 months or whatever the probation period is.

Thank you,
J S Malik
