I am a student of MBA and currently pursuing a project "Measurement of Effectiveness of Training" in an organization. Please give me some insight in this area. I have started my project by measuring the effectiveness of Management Development Programmes.Suggest me some the tools to measure their effectiveness.

Just to start with the basics..in case u dont have much idea...why dont u start with a survey of the employees and do a 5point rating scale as to whether the training was effective? this would prepare a baseline for your further project. U cud then prepare an analysis model with the help of some formulae that u can evolve in excel. Then..there a quite a few sites and tools avil online..see that suits yur need...do a search on google or somethin on Training Analysis..U cud also prepare a TrainingAnalysis templete in Excel . Try sites like Eric Berne or Questia for info.

I have searched a lot on google and i am thinking to start by designing a training Effectiveness Feedback Form which is to be filled by the supervisors of the managers who have attended the Management Development Programs and Empowerment and Organising Training Programs. How good is that for measuring effectiveness. Whether i should include a feedack form to be filled by Trainees themselves.

Feedback form can be given to the trainees in the form of a simple questionnaire and stratitified sampling can be used.The response sheet of the trainees after attending the programme and how they felt before the programme can also be surveyed.These results can be analyzed and interpreted using Statistical methiods like Chi-Squared test and anova Etc.

I m doin this project for an organization and i have been given two training programmes that are Management Development Programme & the other is Mentor Mentee programme. These programmes have already being conducted 3-4 months back and now they want to evaluate the effectiveness.
They have taken a training feedback from employees regarding the training programme but i don't have that information too. i have designed a questionnaire for this purpose but since i dont have any pre-training info.
i m in dilemma now how to use the data that i have collected thru questionnaires.Jayasreerangarajan you adviced me to use some statistical tools. i m not able to find out which tools can be used in this area.Do tell me what's yr project all about and which tools are you using.
Please do help me in this regard . I will also post the questionnaires in this cite.
Can we find out the ROI of these programmes , since they r the behavioral programmes, its difficult to quantify the results.
