Hi,
I have developed a Microsoft Excel based Home Loan Calculator (Amortization Schedule) and is available for download at <link outdated-removed> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google ) . The reason why I am not attaching is that this could be revised based on inputs and / or feedback from Users.
This not only calcultes the EMI applicable, but also gives the split of interest and Principal components of each EMI. In addition, this also takes care of Principal pre-payments made and also interest rate changes done for floating rates.
Do mail or reply to this thread with suggestions and / or issues if any.
Regards.

Dude Its really very good tool for a novice in acconts like me, but it will be very good to have below.
1. Option for repayment in principle amount
2. Manually change the EMI(If i am rounding to 15000 instead of 14990)
But really a good tool :-)

Hi,
There is the option for repayment of Principle - this ise last column in cream color.
Regarding the second item, generally the Banks fix the EMI and with increase or decrease in rates or on repayment of Principle, the EMI remains fixed and tenure changes. But yes, if the tenure goes to more than 35 years for a 20 year loan with increase in interest rate, banks might decide to hike the EMI. Let me look at this option. Will keep you posted.
Thanks.

Wow... This is excellent. I was searching for this for long and always found just the EMI calculator but never the full schedule that changes with changes in rate of interest during the term. Great work.
Thanks.

Hi,
I found this excel sheet the most sophesticated one out there on the net and no wonder it appears as the first search result for 'home loan emi excel sheet' in Google. Kudos for creating it!
I have a contruction linked home loan in which the bank disburses loan in stages depending upon the stage of construction (e.g. 10% on casting of 2nd floor slab, another 10% on 4th floor, and so on).
The EMI in such cases can also take varying forms:
It would be great if you can add handling of such home loans also to the excel sheet.
Thanks,

The EMI in such cases can also take varying forms:
- The buyer may not pay any EMI until possession of the house. Some builder/banks are offering this scheme in the current slowdown to attract customers.
- The buyer may pay only the interest amount until such time that the full loan amount is disbursed, after which the full EMI is to be paid.
- The buyer may pay the full EMI amount (that he would have been paying had the full loan amount been disbursed in one go) from the beginning. This is known as tranche EMI.
It would be great if you can add handling of such home loans also to the excel sheet.

Hi Rajan
Have been using your H' loan calc for some time. It's been a great help,THANKS! I wonder if a some more info can be incorporated in this planner without making it more complicated.Keeping track of your expenses towards home purchase we need to keep track of Registration fee, stamp duty paid, loan processing fee and stamp duty paid to the bank and any other addl expenses incurred by individuals, varying from case to case. There is no place in your planner to record such expenses. It wd be nice if such imponderables can be appropriately incorporated. THANK YOU. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT SERVICE.
