Dear All,
many companies ask for
SSC HSC Marksheet even if the candidate is a graduate.
Cann't we just ask for Graduation Marksheet directly if the candidate is an Graduate.
Any specific reason for asking for all the educational qualification certificates.
Also if an person is a Post Graduate cannot we staright away take that one dcument
Does there exsits any Madatory Rule that one needs to have all the educational qualification certificate of the employees in the HR file

Hello Neha Bhardwaj,
The primary reason why SSC/HSC certificate(s) are also insisted upon is for the Proof for the Date-of-Birth.
Legally, the X Class certificate [or rather the School Leaving certificate] is taken as the most authentic proof for the Date of Birth for any person for 2 reasons:
1] Earlier, most often no one used to have a Birth Certificate [though now-a-days this trend is changing].
2] In India, even if someone has a Birth Certificate, most often, the name wouldn't be there in it [since as per Indian culture/practices, a child is named a few days/weeks/months after birth].
Hope this clarifies.
Rgds,
TS

Thanks TS So that means if a company is directly asking for SSC marksheet or Birth certificate copy for DOB proof and if graduate then graduation and if post graduate then only post graduation certificate is not doing anything wrong
