What is the Job description? If it does not have anything to do with HR , then it might not be a good idea in case you want to pursue a career in HR.

Dear Anagha

Admin related works are plenty, repetitive as well as serving to all departments and all staff where as HR related activities are limited and target oriented. But with my experience of 26 years in private industry, i would like to tell you that Admin related jobs are thankless job. No one will appreciate when u perform well, all the activities cannot be completed in time, one or the other issue will get postponed for want of money or manpower, ultimately, admin incharge will be blamed for any delay or deviation.

It is better to start career as HR Executive. Start career as Trainee HR and learn all the activities like screening CV, shortlisting candidates, doing preliminary interviews, appointment orders, joining formalities, time office function, payroll support services and compliances like ESIC and PF, minimum wages, workmen compensation, GPAP and Group Health insurance.. and so on. At the other side with HR alone activities, you cannot grow in your life, one must take up addl. responsibility with HR and Admin, HR and training, HR & IR etc.
