Well guys let stop this politician Bashing and lets evaluate ourselves first

1. Buying pirated CD / software for home / office
2. Saving taxes by producing fake bills / house rents
3. Sharing Logins of portals
........
.......

How many of us feel the pain when we do this. but we justify it by giving some reasons. We know we are fooling ourselves. we are not bothered about the boiling couldron..or wrath of god when we do wrong as we always have some reason

The reason is simple we spoil the system and affect others, influence them to do the same by bragging about our benefits achieved by doing some wrong. When it comes to full circle and we get affected, we feel the pain, we feel the heat and we start against politicians, we lambaste our system.

Guys lets change ourselves and then only society will change. Good and bad has full circle..it comes back to the doer.

Lets start at a good point so that when we the circle completes we get something good.

I am in no way justifying the practices this column is against of. Thats wrong and they sure will receive it back sooner or later.

I think all good meaning indians would already be trying or atleast giving it a thought.
Your views strangely seem to be justifying the unethical practices.
I am sure we can't change our selves and our society overnite. But atleast we can take one thing at a time. And start trying!
Let's take corruption. Can we take a vow never to give a bribe? Can we take a vow never to take a bribe? Can we try with an attempt to stop corruption?
I am sure if we try - Hole Hole khatam ho jayegi corruption....
I am inspired by President Obama who OWNED his mistake and said : "I screwed up!"
I take a vow today on the 12 Feb 2009: I will Never give or take a bribe in my life from now on!
I wish to disclose that I am guilty of bribing three times a senior manager to keep my contract going. I have stopped that now.
I may lose the contract. So be it.

Dear All,
I worked for consultancy for one year and currently working for a corporate . I did recruitment in both places, trust me consultants are very important and play cruicial role in hiring and meeting deadlines for corporate recruitment HR in order to survive .
Just prove them(i mean who ever follow unethical practice)that you have quality work and you will not give room for corrupt means. Only if you comply to their demands, corruption starts . Think about it guys .

Great work done, thanks for atleast taking an intiative.
Apart from Nazeen n Angel i don think no Hr has been bothered to reply or comment on the issue.
Nazeen i really agree to ur comments n thanks for that....
Now the issue has gone to politics and against corruption, let me tell you that these coroporates are least bothered about these things cos they are too much earning n enjoying n no concern over society.
Just take mumbai attack no one took atleat a minute for a condolence or a single post...

you are right from your side, if client will never respond then you can stop sending cv for openings as HR person is also helpless when management of copany will not give ans so while doing tieup check everything make a condition that if feed back will not be provided then we will not send a cv for your openings.
as most of you may be coordinate with HR-Executive,Manager of company but also take email id of that person's immediate boss and keep him in cc if you will not get reply then you can directly send mail regarding that to his immediate boss.
because you people are doing very much effort to search right candidate so in order to make aware employer you can do this

I completely agree with what you say...coz initally at the begning of my career i have worked in a consultancy, I still remeber that, i had a client and he called me at 6.30 /7.00pm saying that his system admin had left the organization without giving any notice, and asked me to send the profiles IMMEDIATELY, that evening i practically worked late night, and scheduled the candidates for him, interviews were done and 1 candidate was selected.thereafter i called him constantely for the further process, but he gave me excuses and made up answers. and 1 fine day he tells me that we have kept that thing on HOLD....
So yes i have also encountered exactely the same situation

She is really a good human being. I think rest of the FEW HR's who exploit consultants should at least learn quality of APPRECIATION from her and learn from her of how to RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE IN PROFESSIONAL WORLD.
I think as this topic is in this forum for discussion why it’s been ignored by rest of HR's.I am very sure many of the HRs in this forum might be working in Corporate Staffing / Recruitments etc.
Kindly let us know what is the problem you face that you start disrespecting/ignoring the consultancy guys? :-x
We have many respected and experienced seniors in this forum they will definitely help you out the get the solution to your problems.

Firstly there only few black sheeps. I have know some fantastic HR Managers & executives with exemplary conduct and professionalism. It was a pleasure and a learning experience working with them. Still is.

Personally I would like to trust the people I am working with, and try to avoid showing any suspicion of unfair practice. I won't like to report to his senior either cuz I am not sure if that works. I have tried that and discovered that senior turn a blind eye. They may be more concerned about being able to answer their seniors rather than favouring an outside consultant by pulling up his own staff.

I am not sure. I want to believe this. Please tell me if the seniors view the juniors as unethical if they follow unethical practices.And that they will pull them up if we report.

Finally, I am not at all willing to point out anyone or find faults. I am struggling to correct my own short comings as a person and as a professional. I really don't have the time & inclination to correct others.

But How long can we keep quite and keep tolerating unprofessional behaviour by some of these people. At whose cost? At whose Inconvenince? Whose Hard work goes waste? Who does not get paid? Who fails to earn his/her monthly incentives?

Are those people working hard as recruiters with a consultant not humans. Don't they deserve a right on their hard work. Hardwork of others come cheap to these people.

We just need to STOP tolerating unethical behaviour.

These are absolutely true.
As Iam working as a recruitment consultant in an executive serch firm ,I also face the same problems.Most of the times HR doesnot provide the correct requirements and feedback.
Most of the times the requirements will be so urgent that after sending the profiles there won't be any feedback.
It is very difficult to get an appoinment with these people or even to talk in phone.They are always busy.Are they really so busy ?
The corporate HR people should understand that it is for their benefit that these consultants work.Even though the consultants will get commission the company will get benefited in long term by utilizing the knowledge and skill of the candidates.
