Dear Floating Penguin,

I think each and every word stated by Asha Mathew is right in absolutely sense. First of all there is a way to communicate especially in pubic forum like this. Please be aware of this. That does not mean one can communicate as they like in any other platforms.

Mind you!!!there are millions of people including the employers are watching this forum quitely without becoming a member or replying. This kind of thread that you send are signals for them/us to understand the employees personal values or sense of loaylity.

I think if one contiunes with this kind of attitude career journey will be very difficult and destination is absolutely not known. Do not be guided by the wrong associates or exceptional cases in your journey.

as seen in many mails and threads in this forum it is pitty to find that the values of dignity, hardwork, career progress, self discipline, truth which are time tested over a period of time even in the hardest times are least paid atatention by the so called younger generation.

Hi there,
As Jai stated you could find the policy in the terms& conditions letter which comes along with the appointment letter or you could request for the policies from the Management.

Is your question - "I somehow want to quit the job, I dont care about the releiving letter or any other formalities, but I somehow need the money. Is there a document(company policy) I can use to scare the Management by using the word accountability?" (Bet you, once u see the doc u will revert to ask - "now where shuld I search for it?"

Sir do u know wat the money is for - its when a company will terminate u on grounds of non-performance or recession, and will pay u for the notice period u need to have otherwise provided.

In case of disciplinary actions, its not necessary for them to pay u. They can just show the door to u.

If u r resigning urself, its not necessary for them to pay u. Pls complete ur notice period with them and leave the company.

If you dont want to continue with notice period - pls forget abt the money.

If you are quitting becos of polictics, its ur headache...not theirs.

MONEY here is compensation for losing the job, not giving up the JOB.

floating penguin,
Please understand as long as you are dealing with human issues and surrounded by the people all of us bound face the politics in one way or other in career journey. A smart and prudent person will know and come around eventually to deal with it.
As far as money is concerned if you are serious about it, serve them the notice and leave the company gracefully. If you suddenly desert your service then forget the money and the company. think of your career!!! Is this right way to deal with the issues confrontation> Mind you the world is small. People are heavily networked. Even if you do not mention about this company with your future employer they will have all possibilities to come to know sooner than expected.
It appears you are in the position of sunrise of your career. Think and be patient and wait for the right opportunity to deal. It will be easy to advise you to quit. But hold on. For every problem there is sollution disguised in the form of problem.
