Why we have to submit the Birth certificate at the time of Pension claim? PF office had returned the filled forms by asking the Birth certificate why?

The PF authorities might have asked for the birth certificates of your children only. This is to prove the age of your children, and only children up to the age of 25 years will be eligible for children's pension, which is paid after the death of the employee's pension.

Age proof of the member is to be furnished at the time of enrollment to EPF. This is for various reasons such as reaching 58 years completion, 50 years completion, or falling between the ages of 50 to 58, as each of these milestones has its own significance in pension calculations.
