Diwali Explained by an Indian Born in the USA
A young second-generation Indian-origin boy in the US was asked by his mother to explain the significance of "Diwali" to his younger brother. This is how he went about it:
"So, like, this dude had a big cool kingdom, and people liked him. But his step-mom, or something, was kind of a problem, and she forced her husband to send this cool dude, Ram, to some national forest. Since he was going for something like more than 10 years, he decided to bring his wife and his brother along so they could all chill out together. But dude, the forest was really scary with monkeys, devils, and all that. However, Ram handled it with darts, bows, and arrows, so it was fine.
Then some bad gangsta boys, like this jerk Ravan, kidnapped his wife Sita and took her to his area. Our man Ram and his brother Laxman were angry, and all the gods supported them. You don't mess with the gods. Ram, Lax, and their monkey army defeated the gangsta in his own territory. By this time, their time in the forest was up, and it got boring without modern entertainment. They hitched a ride back home, and when people realized they were back, they thought they deserved something nice. Since there were no bars or clubs back then, they decided to celebrate with smoking and lit lamps, along with fireworks. They even had a local band play along with the fireworks, making it the first music-synchronized fireworks display, like the 4th of July but cooler. That's how this festival started."
The mother fainted...

We are asking you why you are taking it so lightly; however, it is not a true story. On some stories like this one, we can't laugh at all. We all, in the humor section, laugh at all types of jokes except religious ones, whether they are Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christianity, or others.
