Dear All,

I have a query regarding the definition of other construction work mentioned under the BOC Act, 1996. To construct a factory, we have engaged around 15 contractors. These contractors are involved in furniture, machinery installation, fire protection work, etc., and each of them employs more than 10 workers.

In this scenario, do all contractors need to obtain a registration certificate under the said act, or is it only required for civil contractors?

Additionally, if you have any Maharashtra state notifications related to the definition of other construction work, could you please send them to my email address ?

I am looking forward to your valuable reply.

Regards,
Ram

Dear,

It has already been discussed in this forum that the registration under BOCW is for the establishment being/to be constructed and not for the contractors or the owner. Please go through the provisions laid down under Section 7 and Section 2(1)(i) of the BOCW Act.

Best wishes,
