In our company, an employee served during 2005-2006 and resigned. However, he has not yet claimed his PF. Now he wants to claim his PF. Can he apply for withdrawal? If so, should we provide any reasons or a written statement/legal notice for the delay? What is the procedure to be followed for PF withdrawal if there is a gap of more than 1 or 2 years?
Please suggest.

My dear, your employee can apply for the withdrawal of his PF. You can follow the same procedure as you do in the normal course to withdraw the PF of your regular employees. There is no legal notice or written statement required to show the reason for the delay or failure to claim the PF within 1 or 2 years after resignation.
Just fill out the necessary form, have your employee sign it, and attach his updated bank passbook/statement photocopy to receive the PF amount directly credited to his bank account.

I had worked for 8 years in my previous company and left the job in March 2008. I did not withdraw my PF amount. Can I withdraw or transfer my PF amount now? What is the process for withdrawing or transferring my PF amount? My UAN is not linked to my previous PF account. My current company has provided me with a UAN. Please help me in this regard.
