What will be the benefits available for pensioners in the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations? The points of doubt are:
i) Whether Basic pay + Grade Pay will be taken as the basis for the fixation of pension?
ii) Whether the revised ceiling on Gratuity will be applied for existing pensioners.
iii) Whether the commutation of pension made by the existing pensioners will be reworked on the new rate of commutation recommended by the Commission.
iv) Will the new rules have a retrospective effect, and if so, up to what date?
Can anybody clarify?

Example of discrepancy is explained below :
Suppose a person ‘A' retired (Superannuation) on 31 August 2008 while putting 25 years of service.
Another person ‘B' having same basic retired (Superannuation) on 30 Sept. 2008 putting 20 years service.
Assume their basic pay ( Av. of 10 months) is same – Let it be Rs. 20000/-
So the person ‘A' who put 25 years service, his pension will be fixed as :
= 20000 / 2 x 25/33 = Rs.6061/-
While the person ‘B' who put only 20 years service, but retiring only after 5 Sept 08, his pension will be fixed as :
[SIZE=3]= 20000/2 = Rs.10000/-
Can't the DOPT / Govt. see this discrepancy?
Is the pensioner responsible late release of 6th Pay Commission report, due to which he is facing this discrimination ?

Hi,
Can anyone provide information on the latest updates (July 2009) regarding defense pension and disbursement of balance arrear amounts? What will be the revised pension for an H/Capt and an H/Lt who retired between 1982 and 1997? I would also like to know if a person who retired in 1983 and then rejoined the DSC, serving for 3 years, is eligible for two pensions or only a single pension. Where can we find the latest revised pension table?

I left the service on 30th November 2007 as an Associate Professor, taking voluntary retirement after serving 21 years, and joined an NGO. I am deprived of a pension at 50% of the basic pay since I retired in the year 2007 and not in the year 2009. I receive a pension at 21/33 * basic pay instead of a pension at 50% of the basic, which is discriminatory as per Article 14 of the Constitution.
