Hello Bangalore HRMers,
Some of you might be interested in this or could help me with contacts. My name is Thomas Dahm, and I am a German graduate student of International Management at the University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands.
I am currently writing my Master thesis on inter-firm mobility of highly educated staff in India. The purpose of the research is to analyze why certain firms are more attractive for employees than others in times of high attrition and frequent job hopping, which already are and will be big challenges in the future. This research aims at investigating the relationship between the different concepts: attrition, employer of choice, and applied recruitment method.
For more information visit www.student.ru.nl/thomasdahm.
I am going to visit Bangalore from 13 November till 26th of November, in order to gain empirical data by the means of short personal interviews with persons who are concerned with the recruitment and/or HRM.
In order to make this research successful, I would like to ask the members of this group to participate in this research. It also provides them with an excellent free opportunity to find out where your firm stands in this highly competitive market.
All information provided will be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone else, in keeping with standard practice. This means that disclosed information will not be placed in the public domain and can only be accessed by those who have obtained written permission from the author or, in his absence, from the research supervisor, Dr. P.A. Barbonis (p.barbonis@fm.ru.nl).
Would you like to be part of this interesting project or can you provide me with a helpful contact?
I highly appreciate your input and precious time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.
I am looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely, Thomas Dahm

Dear Friends,
The 3rd City HR meet was a great experience. Thanks a ton to Mr. Kurien for the wonderful presentation on "Positive Vision". I am sure the film has made a mark in the life of all who were present. "Ethics and values are there in this world; we just need to reach out to it."
And for all those of you from Bangalore who promised to come and made us wait long... You really missed taking that first step.
Also, heartfelt gratitude to Kiran and Amruth for organizing the same.

Dear Friends,
The third HR meeting on the 12th was quite interesting. The presentation made by Mr. Kurien was enlightening. Vision and goals are great, but what is more important is to have values.
The illustration shown in the video - River Crossing and Starfish - drove the message very effectively.
Fellow attendees shared many interesting viewpoints and real HR case studies.
May the HR fraternity consolidate and flourish.
I wish to thank the organizers of the meeting and Mr. Kurien for the enlightening evening.

Hi CiteHR Friends of Bengalooru,
The 3rd edition of the CiteHR meet was very good. Despite the not so ideal attendance, the meeting picked up speed, and it was a wonderful experience. Mr. Kurien's presentation was superb, and we all learned about the importance of having a vision.
I'll stick my neck out and put a few points out for all:
1) If you have informed that you are coming, please make it to the meeting without fail.
2) If you can't, please inform the organizer that you can't come, so that we don't have to twiddle our thumbs waiting for you. I'm sure we all understand the importance of communication.
I'm sure that all the members have taken it in the right spirit, being HR practitioners, and they will not mind my pointing these points out.
Let's work towards bigger and better meetings.
Warm regards,
Amruth

Hi HR Practitioners!
The CITEHR meet is being organized for the benefit of the fraternity here. The participants who have attended and continue to attend will vouch for the content delivery. We, as a group out here, are "ONLY SHARING KNOWLEDGE" gained by us in this field. There is no 'hidden agenda' out here.
In this pursuit and as your colleague here, I would [so would many] appreciate COMMITMENT-IN WORDS AND DEEDS. There is no possibility for a lame excuse for dishonoring a COMMITMENT if your focus is clear! Please understand the meets are not designed by 'off the shelf' focus. There are deliberations on the content choice in each program to make it an enriching experience. This meet is a participative value addition program, and your commitment here makes a mark.
Hence, please commit "ONLY IF YOU ARE CERTAIN." This message is to make the fraternity appreciate the values we want to be with at work and the world outside!
Committingly yours,

Hi Bengaloorians,
I think my friends who helped me in organizing this event made it clear what the prime responsibility of an HR Professional is (i.e., commitment).
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Kurian for giving us a wonderful presentation on the importance of building "Vision" aligned with values. This has at least helped the minds of the people who attended this 3rd offline meet.
I would also like to thank the people who honored their commitments in attending this meet and also thank those who could not make it to the meet but kept us informed about their absence.
Finally, I would like to invite more and more people with lots of enthusiasm to make our HR community successful.
We have decided that Mr. Amruth and Ms. Shreya will be the moderators for the upcoming event, i.e., the 4th Meet. Either of the two will be announcing the date, time, and venue shortly.
Let us support them in all ways to have a good event in place.
Warm regards,
Kiran

Dear Friends,
I am overwhelmed by the responses to the last presentation. Thanks for all your encouragement. The best part is that everyone was so positive about the fact that organizations need to be value-driven in order to survive. Many people believe that one has to be unethical to prosper. In this age of globalization, it's important that companies recognize the need to be ethical and be known for integrity to compete in this globalized world. HR professionals can play a key role in promoting this culture, and here I believe we are making a good beginning.
I certainly would like to share my experiences in this area with the whole HR community.
Cheers,
Saju Kurian

Hi Members,
The 3rd Cite HR Meet was great. We had a good discussion and presentation from Mr. Kurian about the vision, values, etc. However, we couldn't help out the member who couldn't attend the meeting prior to confirmation from the said members. I believe they are stuck in their busy schedules. Despite this, we had a good session. We expect more values to be shared in the coming events.
Team, let's aim for something bigger! Members, please join us and share your valuable thoughts to help each other grow.
