Hi Everyone,
I have been receiving numerous emails about the difficulty in downloading attachments from CiteHR. I want the members who face this problem regularly to update their browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer or download Firefox.
To update Internet Explorer, visit: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow.../getitnow.mspx
I have successfully downloaded many attachments from threads where members have requested the attachment to be sent via email.
If you continue to experience problems even after updating, please post a reply here along with the following details:
1) Browser version
2) Operating system
3) Do you have access to install a new browser on your computer?

Hi CHR,
Nope, the problem is not the browser. The way to download (and this is the way it works 100%) is by:
1. Right-clicking on the "file name" instead of "click here to download."
2. Then selecting "save target as."
That's all! Many times, I have posted the instructions, but some of these folks seem to overlook it and keep flooding with messages like "please send it to my personal ID blah blah."
As a suggestion, since we have newbies joining every day, you can do the following: Put a separate "how to download guide" with graphics (screenshots). Maybe then they will understand.
Another way would be to completely eliminate the "click here to download" link as the "file name" already serves the same function.
It's a shame that some of these guys are HR professionals in IT companies!!!

Hi Nad,
You don't need to be too harsh on those who don't know how to download stuff from CiteHR. "It's a shame some of these guys are HR professionals in IT companies!" "But the silly goose..." These words don't sound professional. I too agree with your point on some people overlooking your instructions to download. But don't get angry with them. I also welcome your suggestion on creating a "Tips to download" which will minimize the complaints about "Unable to download."
Hope this is taken in good sense.

Seriously, is there any problem at CITEHR? I mean with servers or maintenance issues? Right from this morning, this problem has persisted, and no one from CITEHR has addressed it anywhere. I hope things are being taken care of in the background, but please, we are expecting an official announcement from the MODERATOR. Thank you.
