I don't understand why people keep pet names on this site. Most of the members are shy or afraid to disclose their real names, even finding it difficult psychologically to understand what this is all about.

Now, I come across one typical name I've never heard in my life - "Bhajiya". What does this Bhajiya mean to citehr or as a username? Is this a joke, or is he a serious member or making fun of us?

Partho

Dear Sir,

My real name is Bhajiya. I am a Mauritian national of Indian origin, and my full name is Bhajiya Narayan. What's your problem with my name, dear? I am also confused. Please show some respect for my name. For your information, I studied in India and never had such a question asked about my name in India by anyone.

Regards,
Bhajiya

First of all, Partho... is this a question you would like to have answers from seniors? So you posted in "Talk to seniors."

People have a number of reasons why they don't want to disclose their names. Should that stop you from working peacefully?

I doubt if the lady in your organization who you had complained about last week for raising issues for no reason actually had reasons to behave so. Please learn to avoid such small things disturbing you. You seem too occupied with things other than what should really matter.

Hey hey...

Both the dudes have taken things in a cool manner, and we have resolved the Group (Industrial) Dispute here itself in a cool manner, so now chill out everyone. We all are good HR's.

Ya,

Even I am surprised this post is in the top ten. I have been posting many important queries and replying too but never in the top ten. It's really strange. I think this site is losing its original value. I feel sad about this as I have been using this site for a long time and it has benefited me a lot.

Dear Members,

I agree - it's really funny to see that such a topic has reached the "top discussion" area. Something that I would want everyone to think about is:

In life too, we tend to give importance to those areas that really should not matter at all. We make a huge issue over a silly matter and finally make ourselves look funny to others. Like Partho, many of us get worried over silly issues and tend to prioritize that more than anything else. Should we not see how it's going to benefit us or others too? Relating it to personal life - we tend to give importance to people who don't really matter to us, whereas the really deserving people in our life miss our love and care. And we justify reasons saying that "It's work pressure"! Really??? Isn't this post proof of the same? Many of us agree to the fact that this post was really unnecessary and too childish to be raised at all. But sometimes these silly things even psyche us and make us feel angry and irritated. I agree - I got frustrated. When I thought over it later, I understood that even I have been silly for having given importance to this at all. But I learned something out of this...

Partho, relax and take a larger picture of your life. I think you have more interesting avenues. And even if such small things irritate you - why don't you post a private message and ask the reason? People will feel like giving the answer you deserve to know. You seem to be "Assuming" a lot of problems... though they never really exist at all. No offense...

Dear friends,

Please don't reply to this email. While a response to this amusing email was sent previously, further replies are unnecessary. Unfortunately, the continuous responses have turned it into a widely discussed topic via email for the past two days.

Kindly refrain from replying further.

Thank you.

Please don't blame me for replying, but Partho has posted something that actually tickled a few funny bones. Though a lot of people are raising questions about whether one should reply or not, I feel that if people are participating, one should let them.

At the end of the day, "Bhajiya" sounds slightly different from a mainstream name we hear, but Partho did not have any intent to humiliate him. This is what I believe. Anyways, I just read it from the office, and it was good fun reading all the comments.

Nothing is wrong with any kind of names because migrant Indians do keep names with local customs and culture where they migrate, especially in the West Indies, Mauritius, Fiji Islands, East Africa, and South Africa. Many Indian names appear differently than traditional Indian names.

Members need not be upset about this because this post has taught us something. We must learn rather than criticize the post.
