I think ..where the company has another company with the different name but being managed by the same top management ..... i hope some others can too throw some light .......... Anu

A sister concern is an alternate company of the same parent company. I am working as the Senior HR of a BPO company, which is a sister concern of a huge company dealing with stocks and shares. The top management remains the same; we have the same directors for both companies.
I hope this clarifies the situation.

If two companies are owned or controlled by the same entity or person, they are sister companies. Those two companies can exist anywhere in the world.
