Dear Seniors,
One of our employees constantly twists around everything I say to make the situation seem worse than it is. For example, when I put her paycheck on the counter because she was busy, she told others that I threw it at her. She has lied about many incidents. I have spoken with her several times and indicated that her actions are unprofessional and disrespectful. This is not good for my reputation. I need a solution about how to deal with this employee.

Hey, it's all about the different human beings, and it's not so difficult to handle. You will find 5 out of 10 people like this, so handling will vary from one person to another person. Actually, what is exactly that person is? Whom you are dealing with? Try to know his/her likes and dislikes, when she will feel pity, when she will feel angry? Try to reach all behavioral details of that person, and I'm sure if you know all those things, you can easily understand her. If she is not respecting, definitely she will have some ego problem. Don't repeat the same. You have to give full respect to her and show professionalism. Soon she will realize.

Hey Partha,
Let me tell you... it's all in the words you use. 😊 It's magic... try this:
"Hey – I understand that something I did has made you feel bad. I am sorry, but trust me, nothing was intentional. Only after you said that did I realize that my words were wrongly understood. Please don't take it to heart. Nothing was meant the way you thought it to be. 😊"
And still after this, she is acting different – just ignore it.
I also had a similar situation... I just mentioned – sorry, it was not meant in the way you thought it to be. She still grumbled.
It took her two months to get back to me and apologize. I still had no reaction – but told her that I did not take it in a hard way as she had misunderstood everything. 😊
Just leave it – after a while, they will get back to you and be normal.

Dear Partho,
I am also facing the same problem as you here in my organization. My boss always demotivates me by providing incorrect feedback to the top management, which results in me receiving an average grade at the time of increment. However, I choose to ignore him and am actively looking for a new job because I believe that we cannot perform at our best in an organization where the boss has a negative attitude.

Talk to her to sort things out. This move will be difficult, but you have to try it once. If you find yourself back to square one, then stop reacting to her behavior - this will work sooner than later.
Good luck.

Apologies, Partho, for asking this, but can I know if you have really encountered such a situation? It's so weird because sometimes I come across queries that I can find in other forums or newsletters. Please don't mistake me; I just want to clarify so that we can all truly help. I have no intention to point out anything; it's just my nature to be straightforward. I do find many similar posts here.

What's your problem, man?
Do you mean people cannot face identical situations and problems because someone roaming websites encountering such issues raised repeatedly everywhere, including citehr where people ask the same questions repeatedly? You seem frustrated with my asking different clarifications. Your comic character Ravi is suffering from more inferiority complex - look at his comments and how he endorses your comments. Please open your eyes and liberate your mind beyond forums and newsletters that copy materials from our experience. Good luck to you.

Dear Partho,
Look at the views. Some comments may not be of use to you; some may be useful. Discuss views and not about the person. We also need someone against what we feel, someone against our ways of looking at things - only then will we have a look at both sides of the coin. Some may see you as a sad fellow, some may see you as a person who needs to solve a major issue, some may feel you are wasting time, some may feel that you are just doing the right thing. Views differ. We cannot feel frustrated about it. We are just adding one more "negative feeling" by getting irritated. You can always let him know that - you are truly facing all of this - maybe everything is happening at the same time for you. :|
Take care and have no offense in mind about my views, or Ravi's views, or Kavitha's views. None of us want to offend your feelings or intend to do that.

Dear Partho,
I think it's a natural problem with you. If you can't ignore simple things, then this problem will always be with you. Try to avoid such things and try to be normal. Now I came to know about your behavior, what's happening with you. You can't ignore a simple thing, that's why you are facing the problem with that lady. Be chill, man. Just change yourself; you will find the world has changed. Best of luck.

Very true that different persons can have identical situations and problems, but not all can have identical thoughts or use identical words or sentences. I don't want to elaborate on this further or mention anything else. I had earlier conveyed the message in a very soft, low-key manner, but now I'm compelled to write more assertively. Once again, I apologize if my words have hurt you.

Dear Partha,
If employees are behaving in such a manner, then HR has to be tough on work culture and employee relations. Ensure that HR has established a strong presence in handling employee grievances. There may be instances where someone could wrongly attribute some other sensitive gender-related issue to someone else - who knows? It is important to implement and practice strict behavioral standards.
It is often a misconception that the HR manager has to act as a ringmaster. Today, this is not the case. The HR manager is also a part of the workforce, albeit in line management. The key factors involved are trust, loyalty, coordination, respect, and appreciation for both HR and the staff. The perception of HR needs to be analyzed from a neutral perspective.
Maintain perseverance at all times, especially when dealing with female employees. If one-third of the total employees are female, it's advisable to have a female HR Assistant or Executive in your department. I have always ensured that a female HR member is present at the discussion table whenever a female employee is called in due to problematic behavior. This approach has proven to be effective.
Good luck, Partha!

Hi Partho, I have read all the above comments. All my friends tried to send you some messages, but I will go a little bit more personally. Just analyze her likes and dislikes. Does she like any boy who is a close friend of yours? Is she senior to you in terms of education, age, and wealth, or is she an old employee of that company? If so, then it's quite natural that she is behaving this way with you. Try to match her behavior. You will definitely see the difference. Just give her credit for some work. Just try it.
