Just another dimension to look at life... makes a huge impact. Truthfulness apart, just read on...
I (Satyam Employee) am deputed at a client location and came across a very interesting conversation in the cafeteria yesterday. One of my co-workers, also deputed with the same client through some lesser-known two-room company, mustered the guts to ask me sarcastically in front of the entire team, "So, Satyam is gone! What are you guys planning to do now?" In normal circumstances, I have a habit to not reply to loose talks, but in front of the entire team... I thought I need to fix this guy's thought process. I asked him, as my military training has imbued in me the habit to fight till the last breath, "Who says Satyam is gone when I am very much alive here and committed to create value on behalf of my company?". He shot back, "Hello Mr., your chairman has resigned, you guys are facing financial turbulence and you still have a face to say that Satyam is not gone!"
At this juncture, I thought of replying to this guy in his language. I asked him, "Tell me, what will you do and where will you go if our country India was not there?" He was not prepared for this level of thought and asked back, "What a stupid question, How can India be gone, it is a country?" I asked him back, "Country! What makes a country? Land? Economy? Our Prime Minister? Our President? Our Geography? Or the PEOPLE? If our PM resigns, will you say India is gone? If our economy faces a slowdown, will you say India is gone? But yes, if the people of a country are lost for any reason, we will say that the country has no meaning. Who cares about the vast land of Antarctica today which has just one permanent resident, Father Georgy? Which country does it belong to? Why doesn't it have any government? Why doesn't it have any economy? Or, how many countries were there when humans used to hunt for food in prehistoric times? Countries, Wealth, Infrastructures, and booming economies are nothing but creations of the efforts of PEOPLE, and they do not have any existence on their own. And the final blow was, "When one man can create Satyam as an organization of 53,000 people, why can't 53,000 committed people rebuild one SATYAM?"
TRULY INSPIRING... Appreciated. What say?

Dear,
I don't know, but somehow, I don't feel bad about Satyam because this company has provided the bread and butter not only to the 53,285 employees but also to 53,285 x 4 (average family members) = 213,140 people in India and crores of others (investors, clients, directly or indirectly) paving the way for business. Just a small fraud can't dig so deep into Satyam. I'm with you, my friend. Keep it up, and I believe that an organization doesn't make people; people make the organization. If one person can build a huge company with 53,285 employees, why can't these 53,285 rebuild Satyam stronger than before? All the best.

What's the current headcount at Satyam? Does it keep changing?
Satyam employees are great - no doubts on that. Their ERP practice is terrific. Sad to know that their management has ditched them. My best wishes to the employees at Satyam.

The company record shows that there are 53,000 employees in the company while the actual number of employees is only 40,000 as accepted by Raju in his confession letter, said Kumar and asked the court to allow two more days of police custody for further questioning.

Dear Sooraj,
While insinuating Satyam's Chairman Mr. Ramalinga Raju, you have missed the wood for the trees. Why are you looking only at the employees? What about the investors? Satyam was also the hope of 5 lakh investors. If I am to apply your method of statistics, then I would say he has cheated 20 lakh people as well [5 lakh x 4 (average family members) = 20 lakhs]. When you say a scam of the size of 7,136 crores is "just a small fraud," then probably I can say that you belong to the clan of Pt. Nehru. In the 1962 war when we lost our territory of 64,000 sq km to China, he dismissed it as no loss, saying, "not even a blade of grass grows there."
Thanks to the Satyam fiasco, we have lost our image in foreign countries as well. The bread and butter of 20 lakh people is not above our national image. Now, investors from abroad will think differently before investing in India. He has siphoned funds from Satyam for buying pieces of land. Earning money but not showing it in the balance sheet is a serious crime. In addition to the 26/11 terrorist attack, the Satyam scam has come as a double whammy to our economy.
Dear Sooraj, it's my humble request to apply discretion before posting your comments on national issues. Ok...
