Dear All,
Greetings!
I was walking around in a Big Bazaar store making shopping when I saw a cashier talking to a boy who couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
The cashier said, "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to me and asked, "Aunty, are you sure I don't have enough money?"
I counted his cash and replied, "You know that you don't have enough money to buy the doll, my dear." The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.
Finally, I walked toward him and asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much. I wanted to gift it to her for her birthday. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister." My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me, "I want mommy to take my picture with her so my sister won't forget me. I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister." Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.
I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy, "Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?" "OK," he said, "I hope I do have enough." I added some of my money to his without him seeing, and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
The little boy said, "Thank you, God, for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at me and added, "I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses." I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

Dear Friends,
We are facing the same problem in my company. One of my team members met with an accident. He was also drunk. He was married only three months back. Now, he is in a coma.
It's a request: don't drink while you're driving.
Thanks,

Ya, I really agree with Ravi. But the irony is that only we, the people - whoever is clicking onto this thread of citehr - are aware of the aftermath of the accident. So we may promise not to drink and drive. But if this whole story that we have read appears in the newspaper, then more people would be touched by it. The effect could be more. Anyways...
The culprit should be punished severely - for example, he could be asked to give compensation to the family throughout his lifetime - irrespective of whether the family needs compensation or not. These negligent people should be brought onto the right track.

Here are a few lines from Mirza Ghalib's Shayari:
Hans ke bola karo bulaya karo,
aap ka ghar hai aaya jaaya karo.
Muskurahat hai husn ka zevar,
roop barhata hai muskuraya karo.
Had se zyada haseen lagte ho,
jhoote kasmen zaroor khaya karo.
Hukm karna bhi ek shauqat hai,
humko khidmat koi bataya karo.
Baat karna bhi badshahat hai,
baat karna na bhool jaya karo.
Taake duniya ki dilkashi na ghat'te,
nit naye peshani mein aaya karo.
Kitne sada mizaaj ho tum 'Akbar',
us galli mein bahut na jaaya karo.

Very heart-touching story. It brought tears to my eyes. Really, this can happen to anyone. My heart felt sympathies with the man and the little boy. I would request all not to drink and drive, and let us vow to stop others who drink and drive. We simply don't have the right to crush the happiness of others.
I never used to forward anything to anyone as it is considered spam. But this story, I couldn't resist. I have shared it with my boss and other colleagues. Thanks for sharing the story and the message.

I wish this were just a story, but I know these kinds of things happen in life. Please, please, please avoid drunk driving. If you are able to get away from your drinking habit, it's much better. Remember, drinking never brings a smile to anyone.

You won't believe but for sure, at an instance, I felt like crying just because of such an emotional story. And yes, now with this one, people would now even realize that if you wished God with a true heart, it's He who decides how to help the one requesting Him. May God bless the child.

Hi John,
It's really very touching. Tears fell from my eyes after reading this. May God help and bless those people who suffer such tragedies in life.
Please don't drink and drive.
There is a poem on this topic that I feel I should share:
I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.
I felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right.
Now the party is ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home safely.
Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.
But as I pulled out onto the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load.
I'm lying here dying, Mom...
I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.
There is blood all around me, Mom,
And most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom,
I'll die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
The others didn't think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank,
And I will die.
Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now,
Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying,
And all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
When I go to heaven, Mom,
Put "GOOD BOY" on my grave.
Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you, you were always there.
I have one last question, Mom,
Before I say goodbye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?
Thank you for sharing this powerful poem. It truly highlights the importance of making responsible choices.

Too touchy to re-read
It instantly filled my eyes with tears.
Science have developed so much, we have RFID, Sensors, Robots and ………..
But we do not have any thing to stop these drunk drivers, other than counseling and requesting.
There can not be any crime equivalent where a healthy, fit and happy guy destroys
a happy family killing innocents without warning even.
