Hi all,

I have worked for about 5 years in 5 different MNCs now, and all the time, though I would hear of PF deductions, I would never really take it seriously. I quit all the companies without even being bothered to check my PF details. By now, I realize that it's something important and a lot of my own money is being saved. Could you please help me bring this under one roof of savings? Please tell me what I need to do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If you want to withdraw, you should contact your previous company and the Regional PF Office along with your PF number for withdrawal. Since you have not mentioned the exact duration of work, I'm unable to suggest more.

Thapa,

This is surprising to hear from you that you never bothered about PF. Let me tell you one thing: the amount in the PF account is strictly for your dependents. The law has been formulated by the government to ensure that every employee receives something for their service after retirement or leaving the company they worked for previously.

I do not know what your salary was all these years, but the amount accumulated over 5 years would be a good sum. Please don't withdraw the money. Instead, collect all your previous PF account details and transfer the entire amount to your current PF account. Before taking any action, visit a nearby PF office and seek their advice.

Another important point to note is that the PF interest rate is very competitive compared to other financial institutions.
