Hello!
I am pursuing an MSW in HR at Madras School of Social Work. As I am in my final year, I am tasked with selecting a topic for my research. I am interested in exploring current issues in HR that would be suitable for a research topic. Additionally, I would like to understand which area of HR would provide me with an advantage in terms of my career or during interviews.
Kindly share your suggestions and insights.
Thank you.
Regards,
Swathy

Please focus on comparative studies of 2 organizations. Or do research on Welfare, compensations, and Retrenchment, others would be Organization Development.
Swathy, My relative has completed MLW and is working as an HRD officer in a limited company. They have applied for admission for MSW from IGNOU, which will start from this July 08. So, can I request you to send me the subjects you have been studying in MSW and placement status after MSW? My email address is [bhardwaj_ch1@rediffmail.com](mailto:bhardwaj_ch1@rediffmail.com).

Dear Swathy,
You may conduct research on how ESOPs are misused by top management for personal gains. I hope you can gather relevant information on this topic. You may find various news articles by scanning the international market.

Hi,
I'm doing my M.A. specialization in Industrial Psychology. This is my 2nd year, and I'm deciding to do my project on attrition and retention strategies. Can anyone help me with my project? Can anyone guide me on how I can proceed with my project?
I would appreciate your valuable suggestions.

Swathy,
Attrition is a favorite topic of students, but not preferred by others, as the trends are very generic in nature and cannot be shared with others since the content is the right of the company. Consider topics that are recent trends of development in the industry, considering your passion as well. Topics like ESOPs may not provide company data since it is confidential in nature. Topics in training have become a household name now.
One of the big debates in HR today is "Value creation by HR Professionals in Business." You can explore this topic. "Challenges in Managing Cross-Cultural Diversity" is another relevant topic, as companies are going global in sales and acquiring companies around the world. "Diversity Management" is also a hot topic. Not many dare to take this up since their knowledge is limited in this area.

Dear Mr. Ranganathan V,
I am currently a final year MBA student specializing in HR. I was scouting Cite HR for dissertation topics when I came across your post. I am very intrigued and interested in the topic suggested by you - Value Creation by HR professionals in Business. The only thing holding me back is your well-founded caution about the unavailability of confidential data. However, I feel this is an interesting topic that has been constantly debated. I would like to talk to you further on this, but I cannot locate your email address.
I would really like to know the viability of proceeding with such a research topic.
Awaiting your reply.
Warm Regards,
Kritika
