Hi all,

Can anyone help me in finding a center for MBA? My situation is that I can't afford high amounts for education, and I don't know which university to apply to. I am confused. :?

I want a university that offers the course at a lower cost and it should be through correspondence.

Hi Rupa,

First of all, I would not suggest you go for a correspondence MBA as there is no benefit. It is always advisable to opt for part-time if you can't pursue a regular MBA.

Following are the options:

- Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning (correspondence MBA). The whole course will cost you somewhere between 25,000 - 40,000.
- IMT Ghaziabad - Part-time MBA
- ICFAI - correspondence MBA
- IGNOU - Part-time and affordable. It offers a 3-year MBA program with an entrance exam, and I believe IGNOU has a good reputation for its MBA program.

So, get set and ready to join any of these institutes.

Cheers,
Archna 😊

Hi Archana,

Thank you a lot for the information. However, my situation is that I can't afford even if it's 20,000 per semester. So, I asked, what would all suggest me to do? Anyway, I will try to get in contact with the university which you have mentioned. Once again, thank you a lot. 😄

Hi,

The university I had mentioned in the mail is Indira Gandhi National Open University. The fees there would not be more than Rs. 7000 per semester. In Symbiosis, the complete course costs between 25,000 to 40,000. The per-semester fees are really cheap.

Hi,

I do understand your problem. I would suggest that you don't compromise on the university. They may charge you high, but when it comes to placement, they offer you the best. There are many banks that offer loans without a guarantee. You have to pay them back only once you start working. Then you can always pay it.

Doing a part-time or correspondence MBA may not help you much as far as jobs are concerned (except Marketing as a specialization). Bank of Baroda, ICICI, Bank of India are some of the banks. The rate of interest is floating. Just think about it.

Could you please let me know the area of your interest and your preferred location of the college?

Regards,
Priyanka

Dear Roopa,

Hello!!!

I have completed my MBA (HR) through IGNOU. The MBA program they offer is quite good. It is a 3-year program consisting of 21 credits, including the project. The course material is excellent.

You have to clear an entrance exam to get admission to the course. I completed my MBA in June 2005. In each semester, you are required to select a maximum of 4 subjects, and at that time, the fees per course were Rs. 600/.

For the project (equivalent to 2 subjects), the fees were Rs. 1200/-

I don't know if the fees have increased at present.

The fees I mentioned are inclusive of course material and exam fees.

IGNOU has also started a placement cell.

However, in the job market, there are some constraints as some organizations - government organizations as well as some big private organizations, look out for only full-time MBAs. This puts people who have to work and study together at a disadvantage because, after putting in as much effort or perhaps more effort, a part-time MBA may miss out on some good job prospects.

But don't lose heart, there are many organizations that are only concerned with the skills that a candidate has acquired and the knowledge they possess.

So, ALL THE BEST!!!!

Regards,

Vinita

Hi Vinita,

Need your help in MBA. I am also keen to pursue an MBA but don't know which institute I should opt for. I have scored less than 50% marks in graduation, so the scope is really limited for me. Are you doing an MBA through regular classes or Correspondence? If it is regular, what is the procedure to get admission there? Please help me with this.

Dear Roopa,

I am not sure if the fees have increased currently. The fees I mentioned include course material and exam fees. IGNOU has also initiated a placement cell.

However, in the job market, there are some constraints as some organizations, both government and big private firms, prefer full-time MBA graduates. This can disadvantage those who have to work and study simultaneously because, despite the effort put in, part-time MBAs might miss out on good job opportunities.

But do not lose hope; many organizations prioritize the skills and knowledge a candidate possesses.

ALL THE BEST!!!!

Dear Archana,

I saw your reply to Rupa regarding options she can consider for a correspondence MBA. I would like to ask, is NMIMS a good institution from where one could pursue a correspondence MBA (PGDHRM)?

Regards,
Khush
