Hi Seniors,

I want to know if the candidate has submitted all the genuine documents to the organization regarding his educational certificates, appointment letter, and experience letter, but has not worked for the last year with any corporates. Instead, he was involved with his family business. Can a third party verify his family business?

The candidate received the offer letter based on his experience in the corporate sector where he had worked before. Can the organization verify whether the candidate was involved in his family's business or not? How does this affect the candidate's job?

Please reply, seniors!

Hello friend,

What is important is "Complete Disclosure" of information pertaining to the career. There is nothing wrong if the person has worked for his family business. Ideally speaking, third-party verification will certainly verify this fact. There is also a need to understand if the candidate will continue to work for the family business and if so, will it lead to a "conflict of interest" when working in an organization. The candidate should honestly disclose the information regarding his involvement in the family business and the nature of that involvement. No candidate should hide this information in the interest of the organization they have joined or are proposing to join. I hope you will appreciate and understand that such checks are necessary in the interest of the organization. Conflict of interest can be harmful to the company and requires honest disclosures.

Thank you, Nishikant, for the reply.

Candidate's family business is not creating any conflict for the organization. An offer letter will only be issued to him once he has submitted all his documents to the organization. According to the organization, his involvement in the family business cannot be compared to working in corporate. In fact, we have considered him to be inactive for the past year. On what basis should we proceed with the verification process since there are no records of his involvement in the family business? Should we still verify this information?

Please reply as this is urgent.
