Please provide guidelines regarding employee coding. We are a construction company with 5 branches and 1000 employees. We have directors, project managers, engineers, supervisors, and the like. I urgently require some small tips. Thank you.

Hi,
Since you are planning to use employee coding, the following steps can be taken:
a) Employees are coded according to their seniority in the company (joining date).
b) Each department can be coded by their abbreviation (so that it will be easy to ascertain by the employee code for which department he/she works).
c) Each department head, VP, etc., can be coded according to their position.
d) Employee date of joining can also be included in the coding method.
For example: Employee A: VPHR020801.
The above is just an example. In case you have a better coding system in place, please let me know.
