Dear All
Employee Grievances Handling in Corporates
Treat each case as important and get the grievances in writing.
Talk to the employee directly. Encourage him to speak the truth. Give him a patient hearing.
Discuss in a private place. Ensure confidentiality, if necessary.
Handle each case within a time frame.
Refer company Policy in each case. Inform your superior about all grievances.
Get all relevant facts about the grievance; examine the personal records of the aggrieved worker. See whether any witness are available and visit the work area.
Control your emotions, your remarks and behavior.
Maintain proper records and follow up the action taken in each case.

I had verbally informed my organization a month ago about me resigning since my immediate boss used to use abusive and foul language incessently on everybody.

I also gave them a letter in writing which they told me they will give a receipt for during clearance of my dues, i completed my 1 month notice period, whereas they made me an authorized signatory - when i discussed it with them they said that since most of the people travel and being a small organization they did not have anyone very educated i can sign the documents till i am there, i in accordance with my notice left the job after picking up my cheque and was assured by the accountant that a relieving letter with my dues shall follow..

The letter is pending and they have sent me a letter asking me to pay up one months salary (as mentioned in my appt ltr if i don't fulfill and give a notice which I did.) since i did not give anything in writing, before i left! Please advise.. what should be my course of action in such a state
