Please, can anybody give me the following information?

For an employee working in Delhi:
1) If the CTC is 683,379 INR per year, which is more or less the Net Salary?
2) If the Net Salary is 650,103 INR per year, which is more or less the CTC?

CTC means Cost to Company - which in return means all that the company is spending on you, right from your Net salary to your Mediclaim, etc. Every single penny is counted in this.

Gross is what you are entitled to BEFORE statutory deductions.

Net is what you get CASH IN HAND after deductions. Usually, the basic deductions in gross are:
a) PF - employer and employee
b) Professional Tax
c) IT / TDS

After the above 3 deductions from Gross, what comes in hand is NET, so CTC = Gross + NET. Hope that clarifies.

Hi Shweta!

The question is: If, for an employer, the CTC for a specific employee is 683,379 INR per year, what is the net salary left for that employee? On the other hand, if that employee receives a net salary of 650,103 INR per year, what is the CTC for the employer?

Thank you for helping me!

Dear Allitta,

We can't determine the specific net salary from the figure of CTC. It depends on the company and how they choose to split their CTC across different components and in what percentages. For example, the CTC is divided into components like Basic, HRA, Conveyance, etc. The percentages of these components vary according to the company, and other statutory deductions like PF, ESIC, are subtracted.

Therefore, it is not possible to precisely calculate the net salary from the CTC figure alone. The same applies vice versa. I hope this clarifies your doubts. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks & Regards,
