We are an e-commerce-based company with technical, customer, and marketing teams. However, people are unable to make decisions (customer support), no planning is done for the marketing team (web sales, getting traffic), and there is a lack of communication between them as a team and as a whole.

Our employees are mostly freshers with up to 5 years of experience, bringing fresh minds with different thoughts. I aim to change this dynamic. Could you please suggest new ideas or games to engage people, facilitate planning, and improve decision-making?

Do not let my status as a fresher deter you. I have some thoughts but am hesitant to implement them. Please assist me in this endeavor. Thank you in advance.

To improve decision-making and communication among teams in an e-commerce company with freshers, consider the following strategies:

1. Team Building Activities: Organize team-building activities to foster better communication and collaboration. Activities like escape rooms, team sports, or problem-solving challenges can help break the ice and build camaraderie.

2. Training Workshops: Conduct workshops on decision-making processes, effective communication, and strategic planning. These workshops can equip employees with the necessary skills to make informed decisions and communicate effectively.

3. Cross-Functional Projects: Encourage cross-functional projects where employees from different teams work together towards a common goal. This promotes understanding across departments and enhances teamwork.

4. Feedback Mechanisms: Implement regular feedback sessions to gather insights from employees on areas that need improvement. Constructive feedback can help identify communication gaps and areas for development.

5. Gamification: Introduce gamification elements in daily tasks to make work more engaging. Use platforms or apps that offer rewards for achieving milestones, fostering a sense of accomplishment and motivation.

6. Mentorship Programs: Establish mentorship programs where experienced employees can guide freshers in decision-making processes and effective communication strategies. This can help bridge the experience gap and promote knowledge sharing.

7. Regular Team Meetings: Schedule regular team meetings to discuss goals, progress, and challenges. Open communication channels during these meetings to encourage team members to share ideas and concerns freely.

By implementing these strategies, you can create a more collaborative and communicative work environment, leading to improved decision-making and teamwork among your employees.
