Your friend has joined the present company only in April, right? The company will generate the challan only now, probably before 15th of May only. Before that make sure that she had given the same UAN (generated by her previous employer) to the present company also. After generating the ECR for the month of April, by 20th of this month, she can check the status. I am sure, there will be two accounts, one with PF member id created by her previous employer and the one by the current employer. Then she can transfer her previous amount to the present easily.
If the previous employer had not given exit to her, then also the issue would come. If the employer had not exited, she cannot transfer the accumulation of the previous company. But she can do it online using her member portal itself. There is a field for exiting by member. Please do that now.
