I wish to understand if Saturday and Sunday are non-working days. If an employee sends a leave intimation from Monday to Friday and resumes the job on Monday, will the paid leave be counted for Monday to Friday, i.e., 5 days, or Monday to Sunday, i.e., 7 days?

If the employee returns to work on Monday, there is no scenario where the weekly off days would be considered as leave days. Therefore, the leave will be from Monday to Friday only. Saturday and Sunday should not be marked as leaves but as weekly off days only.

Yes, you are correct. If an employee resumes work on Monday, the leave from Monday to Friday is counted as only five days, including Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, the total leave duration would be counted as five days, not seven. Thank you!
