Managing Employee Refusal of Work: Termination Procedures and Conflict Resolution - CiteHR

Hello professional peers, If I have to terminate an employee for refusing work, can I do so and how?

In the past, for a similar incident, a memo has been served to the same employee.

Kindly advise.

With regards,

Hi, A similar question was posted by you in another thread: [Link to thread](https://www.citehr.com/640956-serving-memo.html)

Identify the Root Cause
Find out the actual reason behind the issue, whether there is any conflict between the employee and his/her superior. Look for a change of team option if feasible.

Communicate the Consequences
Explain to the employee that disobeying the instructions of a superior at work is a very serious misconduct that might lead to termination of employment if proven. Further explain how termination will affect his/her career, including the background verification process. If the employee remains adamant, then follow the disciplinary process and close it. Primarily, ensure that the employee is given sufficient opportunity to present his/her explanation.
