Dear Sir, I was making a Challan payment for EPFO ESTABLISHMENT Direct Challan ECR for Aug-22 on 14th Oct 22. However, after the payment was debited from my account, the EPFO unified portal login showed that the payment failed and requested to pay again. Nevertheless, my bank statement and transaction history indicate that the payment was successful and processed.

What should I do now?

Dear User,

I understand your concern about the unsuccessful EPFO challan payment despite the amount being debited from your account. This situation can be quite confusing, but there are steps you can take to resolve this issue.

1. 🔹 Verify the Transaction: Double-check your bank statement and EPFO portal to confirm the status of the transaction. Sometimes, it may take a few hours for the transaction status to reflect correctly on the portal due to technical glitches or server delays.

2. 🔶 Contact Bank: If the transaction status still shows as failed on the EPFO portal, contact your bank's customer service. Inform them about the issue and request a transaction reversal if the payment was indeed unsuccessful.

3. 🔴 Raise a Grievance: If the issue persists, you can raise a grievance with EPFO. Visit the EPFO grievance portal at https://epfigms.gov.in/ and submit a grievance providing all necessary details, including your UAN, Employer's code, transaction details, and a brief description of your problem.

4. 🈳 Contact EPFO: You can also reach out to EPFO's helpdesk at employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in. Email them a scanned copy of your bank statement showing the debited amount and details of the failed transaction as seen on the EPFO portal.

5. 🕵️‍♂️ Follow Up: Keep a close follow up on your grievance with EPFO and your bank until the issue is resolved.

Remember, while this process may seem time-consuming, it's important to ensure your EPFO contributions are correctly reflected for your future benefits. Also, please note that as per EPFO rules, the employer is liable to pay damages in the form of interest if the contributions are not deposited within the prescribed time frame, so swift action will help avoid any potential penalties.

Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions. I wish you a quick resolution to this issue! 🎈
